Move, rename, and delete
How moving, renaming, and deleting documents carries over to the repository.
Like edits, structural changes in Falconer wait for your next push.
Move a document or rename its file
Section titled “Move a document or rename its file”Moving a document in a synced space, or renaming its file in the Files tab, marks it Moved. When you push, Falconer moves or renames the file in the repository to match.
Changing a document’s title doesn’t rename its file. To rename the file, use Rename in the Files tab.
Delete a document
Section titled “Delete a document”- Archive the document.
- If the document is already on GitHub, Falconer asks Mark for deletion on GitHub? Click Mark for deletion.
The document shows Pending delete on its card and in the GitHub sync drawer. The file is deleted from the repository on your next push, and the document is archived once the deletion reaches GitHub. With the Pull request merge strategy, select the deletion in the drawer to include it, and the document stays in Falconer until the pull request merges.
Changed your mind? Click Push on its card in the GitHub sync drawer, then Keep file in the push dialog.
Delete a file
Section titled “Delete a file”Deleting a file from the Files tab also waits for the next push. Until then, the file shows Pending delete.
Changes made on GitHub
Section titled “Changes made on GitHub”Moves made on GitHub come into Falconer on their own. Deletes don’t: the document shows Deleted so you can choose whether to delete it in Falconer. See Get changes from GitHub.
