Knowledge Health usage-based pricing
Knowledge Health is billed on usage. Your subscription is paid as a balance of prepaid credits, and each Knowledge Health Scan draws credits from that balance based on the work it does. This page explains how credits work in general, then covers the specifics for Knowledge Health.
Note: This page is a summary. If anything here conflicts with your order form or agreement with Falconer, your order form or agreement governs.

How usage-based pricing works
Section titled “How usage-based pricing works”Falconer uses credits to measure and bill for usage.
- Credits measure usage: each credit represents $0.01 of usage value.
- Your subscription buys credits: your monthly subscription fee is redeemed in full as credits and added to your balance, so $500 per month adds 50,000 credits.
- Usage draws down your balance: credits are deducted from your balance based on the usage Falconer meters.
- You can add more when you need it: if you need more credits than your subscription includes, you can buy more at the same credit rate, either manually or automatically with auto-reload.
This means you pay for what you actually use, and your monthly subscription works like a prepaid balance rather than a fixed allowance that resets.
How Knowledge Health usage is calculated
Section titled “How Knowledge Health usage is calculated”What is a Scan?
Section titled “What is a Scan?”A Scan is one Knowledge Health run across your connected documentation and sources. Each Scan is what consumes credits.
How credits are metered
Section titled “How credits are metered”Falconer meters credits based on the LLM usage recorded for each Scan. The number of credits a Scan uses depends on the size and scope of the Scan, so larger or broader Scans use more credits than smaller, narrower ones.
Credits are not charged per document. You aren’t billed a fixed amount for each document a Scan looks at.
Managing your credit balance
Section titled “Managing your credit balance”Rollover
Section titled “Rollover”Unused credits roll over from month to month and don’t expire for as long as your agreement is in effect. Unused credits expire when your agreement expires or is terminated, and the cash value of unused credits isn’t refunded.
Buying more credits (top-ups)
Section titled “Buying more credits (top-ups)”If your balance isn’t enough to complete a Scan, you can buy additional credits at the credit rate of $0.01 per credit. The minimum purchase is 1,000 credits ($10), and payment is due at the time of purchase.
Auto-reload
Section titled “Auto-reload”If you pay by credit card, you can turn on auto-reload so your balance never runs dry. To set it up, you choose two values:
- Balance threshold: the balance level that triggers a reload.
- Reload amount: the amount charged each time your balance falls below the threshold.
Each time your balance falls below your balance threshold, Falconer charges your reload amount and adds the matching credits to your balance.
You can turn off auto-reload at any time. Turning it off applies to charges after your request is processed. Reload amounts charged before you turned off auto-reload aren’t refunded.
When your balance reaches zero
Section titled “When your balance reaches zero”If your balance reaches zero and auto-reload isn’t turned on, Falconer pauses agent activity and Scans until you buy more credits. Buying credits resumes activity.
Example
Section titled “Example”This example is illustrative only. Actual credit usage depends on the size and scope of your Scans.
Say you’re on the $500 per month subscription, which adds 50,000 credits to your balance each month, and you have no credits left over from previous months.
- During the month, your Scans use a total of 62,000 credits.
- Your 50,000 included credits cover the first 50,000 credits of usage.
- You need at least 12,000 more credits to cover the rest.
- At $0.01 per credit, 12,000 credits cost $120.
You could buy those credits as a top-up when your balance runs low, or let auto-reload buy them for you automatically. If you had unused credits rolled over from earlier months, those would be used before you needed to top up.
In a month where your Scans use fewer than 50,000 credits, the unused credits stay in your balance and roll over to the next month.
