Manage or disconnect sync
Change sync settings, retry a failed sync, or disconnect a space from its repository.
Open the GitHub sync drawer from the synced space’s header, then choose the Settings tab. You need edit access to the space to change settings, export, retry, or disconnect.
Change the merge strategy
Section titled “Change the merge strategy”Pick Direct commit or Pull request and click Save changes. The new strategy applies to your next push.
The repository, base path, and branch can’t be changed. To sync a different branch or path, disconnect the space and set up sync again.
Export to GitHub
Section titled “Export to GitHub”With the Direct commit merge strategy, Export to GitHub writes every page and file in the space to the repository as one commit. If files already exist at the same paths, Falconer asks you to confirm before they’re replaced. With Pull request saved as the merge strategy, the button is disabled.
Retry a failed import
Section titled “Retry a failed import”If the import doesn’t finish, the space header shows Import failed. Open the GitHub sync drawer and click Retry import in the Issues tab.
If it keeps failing, Falconer may have lost access to the repository. Ask an organization admin to check the GitHub App’s repository access in Integrations.
See sync history
Section titled “See sync history”The Details tab shows when the space was first synced and the recent commits pulled from GitHub.
Disconnect a repository
Section titled “Disconnect a repository”- In Settings, click Disconnect.
- Confirm.
After you disconnect:
- Documents keep their content and stay in the space.
- Their link to files in the repository is removed.
- Nothing is deleted on GitHub.
- Anything waiting to be pushed or resolved is discarded, including unpushed moves and deletions, conflicts, and deletions from GitHub you haven’t decided on.
Reconnecting later starts a fresh sync.
