On-prem Falconer: own your knowledge

You can’t expect agents to do your company’s work from general knowledge alone. Agents become useful when they can work with the same knowledge your team relies on everyday: your research, technical decisions, and proprietary data.

But the knowledge that makes agents useful can also be the knowledge you need to protect the most. If your research and proprietary data must stay inside your infrastructure, security requirements can rule out vendor-hosted tools before feature comparisons even begin.

Self-hosted options bring their own challenges. Atlassian is retiring Confluence Data Center in 2029, narrowing the options even further. Traditional self-hosted wikis can leave teams building integrations and running extra infrastructure just to give agents access to company knowledge.

Teams shouldn’t have to choose between protecting sensitive knowledge and putting it to work with AI. They need tools that run inside their infrastructure and support people and agents from the start.

A stealth AI lab testimonial praising Falconer’s self-hosted, AI-native knowledge platform for researchers, engineers, and operations teams.

Your knowledge is your competitive advantage

Consider a research team deciding which experiment to run next. Its earlier evaluations contain tacit knowledge beyond just which trial runs showed the most promise. They record which conditions caused failures, which approaches were ruled out, and which questions remain unresolved. An agent helping plan the next experiment needs that evidence, not just general knowledge baked into its training data.

The same is true of an engineer revisiting a design. They need more than just a description of what was built. The real value lives in test results and past decisions that explain why the team chose that approach.

That’s the advantage: competitors can access the same models and tools, but cannot replicate the knowledge behind the work. Putting that knowledge to work requires control over where it lives and how agents use it.

Better tools built for engineers and researchers

Falconer brings search, editing, and agent access into one AI-native knowledge base. Engineers and researchers can move from a cited answer to a proposal in the same workspace, while coding agents read and update the same knowledge through MCP.

Teams can use that knowledge base in the environment their security requirements allow.

Falconer’s hosting options

Falconer delivers the same AI-native knowledge base across all three hosting options, including permission-aware retrieval, freshness detection, and agent access. Self-hosted teams get the full product, not a stripped-down product or dated experience.

  1. Self-hosted
  2. Managed single tenant
  3. Multi-tenant SaaS

All three include encryption and access controls.

Falconer hosting options: fully managed multi-tenant SaaS, managed single tenant in a dedicated VPC, and self-hosted in your cloud account.

Self-hosted / on-prem

We work with your team to deploy Falconer in your own cloud account. You control connected sources, network access, and model providers, with reviewable infrastructure as code and private networking. Inbound and outbound traffic can be restricted to your approved endpoints.

AI labs can keep model evaluations, research data, and proprietary repositories in their own environment. Aerospace and robotics teams can work with hardware designs, simulation results, and technical decisions on private networks. Defense and other regulated teams can enforce their own network boundaries and approve each external connection.

With Falconer’s self-hosting, teams choose approved model providers under their own accounts and keys, or a model endpoint inside their environment.

Managed single tenant

Falconer operates an isolated deployment in a dedicated Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), with dedicated resources. Your team gets a separate environment without taking on day-to-day operation of the stack.

Managed single tenant provides infrastructure isolation but without the need to operate Falconer in your own cloud account. It differs from self-hosting in who runs the deployment and controls its infrastructure.

Multi-tenant SaaS

Falconer hosts and operates the service on shared cloud infrastructure, handling updates, backups, and uptime. Teams connect approved sources without having to deploy or maintain the service themselves.

The service’s security controls include encryption, organization-level data isolation, granular source controls, and bring-your-own-key support. This option fits teams whose security policies permit vendor-hosted, shared infrastructure.

Put your company’s knowledge to work

Teams earn their knowledge through research, testing, and key decisions. Teams need to use that knowledge with their agents, on their terms, so each new project builds on what they’ve already learned.
