How images, assets, and other non-Markdown files sync with the repository.

How images, assets, and other non-Markdown files sync with the repository.

## Images

Images stored in the repository show up as images in Falconer. GitHub attachment links show up as images too, as long as the repository is public.

Images you add in Falconer go into an `images` folder at the top of the synced path, keeping their original file names. They appear in the **Files** tab and are pushed to the repository with your next push, and the Markdown links to them with relative paths.

## The Files tab

A synced space has two tabs at the top of the left nav:

- **Docs:** your documents, organized in folders.
- **Files:** every file in the synced path of the repository, including images, configuration, and code.

Filter the **Files** tab with **All files**, **Docs and assets**, or **Docs only**.

From the **Files** tab you can:

- Create a new Markdown file or folder.
- Upload, replace, download, rename, or delete a file.
- Edit text and code files directly in Falconer.
- Choose **Link into Docs** to show a Markdown file in the **Docs** tab.

Changes in the **Files** tab are pushed to GitHub like any other change.

## Size limits

| Limit | Size |
| --- | --- |
| Text or code file you can edit in Falconer | 5 MB |
| Any other single file | 100 MB |
| Total text and code across the synced path, not counting Markdown | 64 MB |

Larger text files are stored as files you can download but not edit. If the synced path goes over the total limit, the import fails. Sync a smaller base path instead.
